Capriol are fortunate enough to collaborate with Early Music Ensemble Affetto on a production of the mid-17th Century English Masque Cupid and Death, scheduled for the latter half of 2015. The music and text survive, but not, alas the dances themselves. Choreographing the dances is an exciting challenge for me.
I'm keeping notes here, for myself and my dancers. They're incomplete, of course, and subject to change until (or even during) a performance. I'm using Italian terminology of c.1600 for convenience - it's the vocabularly the dancers of Capriol are most comfortable with.
