For you dance enthusiasts who want to know more, here's a sneak preview of some of the program:

We'll have a dozen or so performers, with some dancing, some playing, and some talented members doing both. We have a bunch of new material that none of us have performed in public before, some old favourites, and new spins on material we've not seen for a while.

Highlights for me so far include working on:

Il Brando Gentile - a playfully international medley by Negri. The music quotes both the English song 'Pastime with good company' and the French dance 'Branle de Malte'.

Spagnoletta nuova in modo di Madriglia - Caroso's most virtuosic Spagnoletta, with the classic dance almost buried under waves of groppi, fioretti and saffici.

La Nizzarda - long a favourite of mine, but rarely performed. Athletic, flexible and SO MUCH FUN! The music is a treat ... but it sticks in the ears.

And of course my beloved galliards and canaries - couldn't have an evening like this without them. Polishing them anew, finding or composing new mutanze, playing with different ideas, rhythms, and steps each time ... these dances are always a delight.
