Beginning with the left foot in front, in passo naturale, as seen in the figure above, do as in Rule 16, but sliding the foot along the ground, both when you bring it back, and when you return it to the front. Note that when you have slid the foot to the back you must raise it about four inches from the ground, and slide it, returning it to the front. It is so called because you pretend to slide the foot backwards and then slide it forwards.
