Classes run from 7:30 to 9:30pm most Thursdays during school term time. We often have a small ball at or near the end of term.
I always appreciate suggestions and requests.
I teach to include everyone present, no matter your level of experience or skill, or physical ability. All are welcome: you don't need any special skills, special shoes or special clothes, and you don't need to come with a partner.
At 8:30 we take a short break, then until 9:30 it's a more advanced class.
Most of the time, everyone is welcome to watch, and to participate if they feel like a challenge ... but it's aimed at the most experienced dancers (some of whom have been doing this for many years). Sometimes it will be a reconstruction session (for my benefit) or a rehearsal for Capriol (my semi-professional performance troupe).
Now and then we have an evening of social dancing, instead of a formal class. It's a chance to use the material we've learned in a relaxed social atmosphere. Usually each dancer will get to choose at least one dance, so everyone gets their favourites; or we'll run through everything we've done in the past term. Sometimes we even have live music! Optional extras: dressing in period costume, bringing a plate of nibbles to share.
Live Music
On some evenings I invite some of our excellent local dance-musicians to practice playing live for dancers.
