Meza Capriola indietro (Santucci)

Full name of step in source:
Rule 117. Meza Capriola indietro. p101
Translation of name:
Backwards half capriol
Translation:

Beginning with the left foot raised in front, jump up as high as you can, and declining the body forwards a little, as in the figure, draw back the left, and slice three times, as in Rule 112. Then put the left on the ground, and raise the right behind. This can also be done on the other side. It is called this because you slice behind/backwards.
[What is "indietro" about this? Only that the right foot ends raised behind? What is meant by "abassando un poco la vita inanzi" (tr. above as "declining the body forwards a little"?]
