It seems likely that the meaning of the name for a step in dance - the movement the name is supposed to evoke - is something like "a little stagger" or "little stumbles", "little falls". This accords well with both the step as described and the way it's used in dances. The meaning can be used to bring some more life and style to the way we perform our trabucchetti.
