Class 7, term 2

A smaller-than-usual class tonight, but lots of fun.

  • Petit Riens (3)
  • Belfiore (3)
  • Coranto (6)
  • Gelosia (6)
  • Scots branles (6)
  • Pinagay (5)
  • Rufty Tufty (4 + teacher)
  • Montarde branle (4 + teacher)
  • Fiamma d'Amore (2)
  • Anello (4 + teacher)

We made our first attempt on my current version of Arbeau's Courante step. It proved to be challenging, but I think a few weeks will settle it. The mimed dance appeals.

In Gelosia, we spent some time perfecting the timing on the weaving section, with both men and women taking a turn at leading.

In Pinagay, I brought a recorder so I could vary the number of kicks - proved challenging for the dancers.

Fiamma d'Amore was a quick brush-up for those of us who learned it last term.
